Kurz Instruments, Inc., incorporated in 1977 by Dr. Jerry Kurz, moved from its original location in Carmel Valley, California to its current facilities next to the Monterey Airport in 1986.

The heart of the company's products are its rugged, solid-state velocity sensors which are based upon the cooling effect of a moving gas over a heated sensor element. Kurz is the recognized leader in thermal convection mass flow meters.

Kurz products are used in a wide variety of important applications including process control, air pollution, industrial hygiene, electric power plants, semi-conductor fabrication facilities, heating and ventilation, laboratory measurements, combustion air measurements, to name only a few.
